Singer Memo-Matic 324 is a process of dismantling, recording and interpreting a knitting apparatus.
It's a pointless process that regenerates itself based on my engaging with it to understand the nature of myself and what I find drives me to continue to do it. Singer Memo-Matic 324 questions value structures that see more value in something with purpose. Instead of seeing value in processes and revealing the function of something, coming to understand how one thing works be it the mind or apparatus beyond its purpose and simply for what it leads is a tool to design.
My doing a continuous process I’m turning in and out of doing doing the of what is keeping you engaged and *turning yourself out* or giving into instruction. I’m finding that to keep myself engaged I waver between throwing shit at the wall, learning a new thing (about knitting machines, learning to weld, learning to knit) then doing things I’m familiar with and know I like (drawing) in the times I don’t feel like thinking.
