Preschool Promenade is a wayfinding system designed specifically for the children and caregivers of the preschool story time group in Newtown library. The System's works under the idea of Kaitangata through its purpose of safety. It works to keep children safe and assist parents guide their children down the busy street into the Newtown Library as well as educating children on street safety.The system has three paths from the three main routes into the library. Each path represents a different street safety lesson for kids to learn as they interact with the path. Materiality and form is site responsive and from existing street wayfinding to allow children to recognize and apply the lessons they learn to other streets.
